
Joseph Braun
Executive Director
Joe is a nationally recognized philanthropic executive with more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including over two decades in the community foundation field. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership & Quality from Marian University. In addition, he earned a Nonprofit Management Certificate from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and was selected for the prestigious Career Pathways leadership cohort through the Council on Foundations.
Throughout his career, he has thrived on building high-performing teams, strengthening donor relationships, and leading transformative fundraising and community impact initiatives. He is known for his strategic vision, donor-centric innovation, and ability to scale philanthropic organizations for long-term sustainability and measurable impact. He has led multimillion-dollar fundraising efforts, launched legacy and planned giving initiatives, built professional advisor networks, and guided organizations through significant growth and cultural transformation.
Joe has served on numerous local, statewide, and national boards. He is especially proud of his service to Rotary Board of Directors, as a Founding Board Member of Young Professionals in his previous community, and on a statewide Servant Leadership council.
Outside of his professional work, Joe enjoys travel, golf, tennis, basketball, and pickleball. Most importantly, he treasures time with his wife and three daughters. He and his family are also passionate about animal rescue and share their home with a dog and three cats — all rescues.
